Terms of Service

Effective October 22, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Platable for the Platable website and the Platable apps for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. By creating an account or using Platable you accept them, and the Privacy Policy is part of them. If you don't accept them, please don't use Platable.

The short version. Platable is a planning and tracking tool, not a doctor, dietitian or coach. Its targets, nutrition figures, recipes and sessions are estimates and suggestions, some written by AI, and they can be wrong. Be kind on the network. If something goes wrong, write to us first; if we can't sort it out, small-claims court is open to you.

Who you are agreeing with

Platable is a product of Platable.io LLC, an Indiana limited liability company (“Platable,” “we” or “us”). “You” is the person using Platable. If you buy Pro in the App Store or on Google Play, the store's own terms apply to that purchase as well.

Your account and your age

You must be 13 or older to use Platable, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to an online service yourself. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms with you, and they are responsible for your use of Platable. Calorie and macro targets are only worked out for people 18 and over. We will close an account we learn belongs to someone under 13.

One account per person, and don't share it. Give us a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@platable.io if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.

Not medical, dietary or fitness advice

This matters more than anything else on this page. The app says it next to every target, estimate and session as well.

  • Platable does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
  • Calorie and macro targets are estimates from a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor) applied to the numbers you entered. They know nothing about your medical history, medication, pregnancy, eating-disorder history or anything else about you.
  • Nutrition figures for logged meals and recipes are approximations, often produced by AI. They are not suitable for clinical use, such as counting carbohydrates to dose insulin.
  • Recipes may leave out or misdescribe an allergen. Check every ingredient yourself against your own allergies and needs before you buy, cook or eat anything.
  • Workouts, running plans and the coach's suggestions are generic. Exercise carries a risk of injury: warm up, use a weight you can control, and stop if something hurts.
  • The readiness line, the brief, the debrief, patterns and the training load are worked out from what you logged and what your devices measured. They are not a diagnosis.

Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before starting a diet, a calorie target or an exercise program, especially if you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, under medical care, taking medication, have a history of disordered eating, or have a heart, metabolic or musculoskeletal condition. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. Never delay or ignore professional advice because of something you read in Platable.

Free and Pro

Free stays free, and includes:

  • Calendar, meal logging with AI estimates, weight and the shopping list
  • An adaptive strength program or a running plan (one at a time)
  • Build your own workouts; run sessions with cues and GPS
  • Streaks, daily goals, milestones and reminders
  • 20 AI credits a month, 25 saved recipes, 30 days of progress

Pro adds:

  • Lifting and running coached together, balanced around each other
  • Coach insights: fitness trend, race projections, lift curves, recovery, weekly load, what you really burn
  • Guided runs: the coach's voice over an easy run, a long run or a tempo
  • Your whole progress history
  • Unlimited AI credits and saved recipes
  • Meals and training in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, by a private link
  • Beacon: share your live location on a run with one person, by a link that dies with the run

The price is shown on the pricing page and before you buy, and may have tax added where you live. We may change what Free or Pro includes, or Pro's price. A change to a subscription you already pay for will be told to you before it applies, and never changes the price of a period you have already paid.

Subscriptions, the trial and cancelling

Pro is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that renews automatically until you cancel. Each account can try it free once, for 7 days; unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.

In the iPhone or Android app, you buy Pro from Apple or Google, under the App Store's or Google Play's terms. The store bills you, handles refunds and handles cancellation: cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling inside Platable, or deleting your Platable account, does not stop store billing.

On the website, Stripe handles the payment, and you give your card on Stripe's own checkout page. Manage or cancel from the Billing page, which opens Stripe's portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds of website payments are at our discretion: email us. Deleting your account cancels a website subscription.

None of this takes away a right to a refund or cancellation that the law where you live gives you and that can't be waived.

AI credits

A free account gets 20 AI credits each calendar month. They reset at the start of the month, unused ones don't carry over, and they have no cash value: they can't be bought, sold or moved to another account. What spends them:

  • A recipe written from your prompt, or imported from a web address: 1 credit
  • A generated photo: 1 credit
  • Each workout session AI writes for you: 1 credit
  • Each meal in a generated meal plan: 1 credit
  • A question to the coach: 1 credit

A generation that fails gives its credits back. Logging meals, including AI nutrition estimates and meal photos (up to 30 photos a day), the adaptive programs and race blocks, check-ins, the calendar and the shopping list don't spend credits. Pro has no monthly cap; to keep the AI features available to everyone it has a fair-use limit of 200 credits a day, which personal use doesn't reach, and past it the AI features pause until the next day (UTC).

AI-generated content

Recipes, meal plans, workout plans, photos, nutrition estimates, the coach's answers and the natural voice are produced by AI models. The Privacy Policy says what is sent to produce them. AI output isn't reviewed by a person before you see it and can be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe or odd; the same request can give different answers, and other people may get similar ones. Treat it as a starting point. As between you and us, what you save is yours to use.

If something a feature produced is wrong, unsafe or offensive, use the Report button on it. We review reports and may change the feature, remove the content or restrict an account.

Your content

What you put into Platable (meals, weights, workouts, recipes, photos, notes, posts) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it, show it back to you and send the parts the Privacy Policy names to the companies that help run Platable, for as long as it is in your account. We don't use your content to train AI models, and we don't sell it.

What you share. When you create a profile, share a workout, post a meal card, comment, tag someone, start a club or share a recipe's link, you give us permission to show it to the people you chose (your followers, everyone on Platable, a club's members, or anyone with the link), including people who join that audience later, and to make what showing it takes, such as a route's map picture or a smaller copy of a photo. That permission ends when you delete the content, change who sees it, or delete your profile or account, except for copies other people saved of a recipe you shared. Share only what you have the right to share, and photos of other people only when they agree.

The network's rules

The network is for people who train and cook to cheer each other on. On it, don't:

  • Harass, threaten, bully or shame anyone, about their body or anything else
  • Pretend to be someone you aren't, make a fake profile, or post spam or advertising
  • Post anything illegal, sexual, hateful or violent, or anything that encourages self-harm, extreme restriction or disordered eating
  • Post someone else's personal information, or a photo of them, without their permission
  • Tag people who weren't there, or keep adding someone who removed a tag
  • Use a club, a post or an event to mislead people or to gather them for anything unsafe

Moderation. Words and photos for the network (names, bios, titles, captions, comments, club names and posts, and the photos on profiles, workouts and meal cards) are checked automatically before they are saved, and anything the check flags is refused. The check can be wrong in either direction.

Reports. Report is on every profile, workout, comment, meal card, club and shared recipe. We review reports, and you can also block anyone at any time.

What we can do. When something breaks these terms, we can take a workout or a meal card off the network (it stays in your log), delete a comment, take down a recipe link, close a club, or suspend your profile from the network, so nobody else sees it while your meals and training carry on. For serious or repeated breaches, or for anything that puts someone at risk, we can suspend or close your account. You will see when it has happened.

Appeals. If you think we got it wrong, email support@platable.io from your account's address. A person will look at it again and reply.

Clubs and challenges

Clubs. Whoever starts a club owns it. The owner names and describes it, shares its link, can remove a member (who then can't rejoin by the link), writes its posts and events, and can close it, which deletes it and its posts. The owner is responsible for what they post there, and the network's rules apply to it. An event is the owner's own plan: we don't organize, check or supervise it, and you go at your own risk. Any member can leave a club at any time. We can close a club that breaks these terms.

Challenges. We set the month's challenges. Your progress is counted on your phone from your own logs, and finishing one puts a badge on your profile. There are no prizes. You can leave a challenge at any time; a badge you earned stays.

Beacon

Beacon (Pro) shares your live location on a run with whoever has the link you send. Who you send it to is your choice, and anyone they pass it on to can see it too until the run ends; we can't control what a person with the link does with what they see. Beacon is not an emergency or safety service: it doesn't alert anyone, and it stops updating when your phone loses signal, power or location. Don't rely on it to keep you safe.

Your data, in and out

Download your data (Settings → Account) gives you a copy of what you have logged, to keep or take elsewhere.

Imports. You can bring in your own history from files that Hevy, Strong, Strava or Apple Health let you export. Getting those files is between you and that service, under its terms; import only your own. Platable isn't affiliated with or endorsed by those services, and it can't promise every file will read correctly.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Platable for anything unlawful, or to give someone else diet or training instructions as if they were professional advice
  • Try to get the AI features to produce harmful content, such as extreme calorie restriction or content that promotes disordered eating
  • Scrape Platable, call its API from anything other than the Platable apps and website, or collect other people's profiles, workouts or routes
  • Script, resell or otherwise abuse the AI features, or work around credits, rate limits or the paywall
  • Break, probe or overload the service, or try to reach another account's data
  • Upload anything that infringes someone else's rights or carries malicious code

Our property and your license

Platable's software, design, name and logo belong to Platable. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Platable apps and website for your own use, under these terms, for as long as you have an account; it ends when this agreement does. Food data from the USDA and Open Food Facts, maps from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap, and Apple Weather are used under their own licenses and credited where they appear. If you send us an idea or feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

If you installed Platable from the App Store

This agreement is between you and Platable, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price; otherwise Apple has no warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims; we are. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US embargo or designated as terrorist supporting, and that you are not on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using Platable and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account, or how to delete your account); cancel a store subscription in the store. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, as above. If we stop offering Platable, we will tell you at least 30 days before, so you can download your data, and refund the unused part of a website subscription. The sections on your content, warranties, liability, indemnity and disputes still apply after the agreement ends.

Warranties

We work hard on Platable, but we provide it as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond what these terms say: not that it will always work or never lose data, and not that its targets, figures, recipes, plans or answers are accurate, complete or right for you. Features can change or be withdrawn, and the service can be down for maintenance. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

Limits on our liability

Platable is a small company, and these limits are sized for one. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for anything arising from Platable is limited to what you paid for Platable, through us or an app store, in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim. That is the whole of it: you don't cover claims about anything else.

If we disagree

  • Talk to us first. Email support@platable.io with what happened and what you would like us to do. Each of us gives the other 30 days to sort it out before starting a court case.
  • The law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
  • Small claims. Either of us can take a claim to small-claims court, in the county where you live or in Indiana, if it qualifies there.
  • Other courts. Anything else goes to the state or federal courts in Indiana, and we both accept their jurisdiction.
  • No arbitration and no class-action waiver. These terms don't make you give up court for arbitration, and they don't stop you joining a class action.
  • If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away the protection of consumer law where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the version and its date at the foot of this page change, with a line saying what changed, and for anything significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Platable after that, the new terms apply; if you don't accept them, you can delete your account.

The rest

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something isn't giving it up. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Platable. You can't transfer them; we can transfer them to whoever takes over Platable, and we will tell you if that happens.
